June Kim is a film curator and a Korean-to-English translator based in Toronto and Seoul. Ever since she finished her studies in cinema at the University of Toronto, she has been involved with the Toronto International Film Festival in one way or another, beginning with acting as the assistant to Cameron Bailey in 2010. As the Associate International Programmer, her main focus is on the region of Southeast Asia. She also acts as the programming associate to Giovanna Fulvi, who oversees the territory of East Asia. Aside from TIFF, Kim is currently programming East Asian and Southeast Asian films for the Udine Far East Film Festival, and is a member of the Nomination Committee at the Asian Film Awards. She was once involved as the cinematographer of a short film invited to Ebertfest, and there she crossed paths with Haskell Wexler, who commented on her camera and said, “That’s a good one.”
