(Open to Contributor+ Members)

Open to Members at the Contributor level and above during the Festival, the Bell Blue Room is a great place to take a break between Festival screenings. Enjoy a drink here, or just get a bit of peace and quiet. Hours of operation are 10am to 9:30pm, Friday, September 7 through Sunday, September 16. Affordable grab-and-go breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and complimentary tea and coffee will be available to the Festival-goer in a hurry!

Advance press screenings
(Open to Gold+ Members)

Patrons Circle Members at the Gold level and above are invited to attend advance press screenings. These screenings will run prior to the Festival between August 23 and 31, not including the weekend. First access is given to members of the press. You will need to check in with Loyalty staff and show them your Patrons Circle card before joining the line. Patrons Circle Members will be let into the venue no earlier than five minutes prior to the screening.

It is very important that you maintain confidentiality when seeing these films. There is an embargo on reviews and social media comments for all of these screenings. You may be asked to sign a non-disclosure form prior to entering the cinema.

Press & Industry screenings during the Festival
(Open to Gold+ Members)

With your Gold Patrons Circle Membership card, you may access P&I screenings during the Festival. The schedule is available online at tiff.net/schedule. A printed brochure of the schedule will be available the week of August 21.

Press & Industry delegates are given priority access to these screenings. Lining up is required, and your Membership card will be scanned.

Festival Tips from Pros

  • Check out your Member offers around Festival Village and recharge before, between, and after films!
  • Plan your schedule, wear comfortable clothes, and bring an umbrella.
  • Read every TIFF and Loyalty email to be kept in the loop on upcoming showings, previews, and events. Sign up for the Festival Daily e-newsletter so that you never miss a TIFF moment.
  • Figure out where your theatres are and leave yourself enough time to get from one film to the next.
  • Patrons Circle Members: Make your Membership card more visible by displaying it in the pass lanyard we include in your Festival Package.
  • Always research your Festival films well. Use the filters at tiff.net/films to browse by interest, genre, country, and more to discover this year’s hidden gems.
  • Sample a little of everything (perhaps one film from each programme) to get a sense of what they’re all about and to help you choose your films next year.
  • Mingle with other Festival-goers in ticket lines, and always be flexible — surprises abound.
  • Schedules sometimes change. Check regularly at tiff.net. See a full list of schedule changes at tiff.net/changes during Festival.
  • Got tickets? You have options — print them at home, save them to your mobile device, or pick them up at the Patrons Circle or Members' Box Office. You will need a ticket to get into theatres!
  • This is September in Toronto — please come prepared for the weather, whether that means a hat and sunscreen or an umbrella and a jacket.
  • And as always, consider smaller, independent movies over bigger-budget Hollywood films that may open shortly after the Festival fare. This could be your one shot to see a masterpiece by a filmmaker with whom you’re less familiar. TIFF is about taking chances, so be daring in your film choices and enjoy the surprise!
