View Six Degrees of Separation during the Six Degrees of Separation introduced by Jordan Sowunmi event.
Following his swift ascent to TV stardom on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Will Smith had one of his first major big-screen dramatic roles in this adaptation of John Guare's play. Smith makes a memorable impression as a mysterious young man named Paul, who unexpectedly arrives one night at the home of a wealthy New York couple (Stockard Channing and Donald Sutherland) claiming to be a friend of their college-age children — and also, as he modestly confesses, the son of Sidney Poitier. The couple is taken with Paul's wit and sophistication, and soon the young charmer has insinuated himself into their lives — but it gradually becomes apparent that all is not really as it seems.
