A Québécois love story that depicts the softer side of punk rock, Pascal Plante's feature debut follows two young free spirits who meet after a concert and immediately hit it off. Théo (Anthony Therrien) and Mag (Rose-Marie Perreault) know their time together will inevitably expire , but they make the most of what they have and nonetheless act seize on the notion that young love can last forever. Fake Tattoos successfully represents the issues facing young adults by portraying conflict within family and oneself, and realistically captures self-acceptance and personal growth. Growing up is complicated, and this film demonstrates the bittersweet complexity of connecting with someone else when your own identity has not yet been defined.
