View Aequador during the Films by Laura Huertas Millán event.
"Aequador is an alternative history built as a travel account without words: an equatorial dystopia evoking the excesses of a progressi[vi]st and modernist dream in Latin America during the 20th century. We imagined a bygone era where an extremist ideology would [try] to conquer the Amazon territory. The film describes, in a composite and voluntarily fragmented way, this parallel present, where fake ruins and relics of utopian architecture [coexist] with vernacular constructions and [the] daily lives of human beings" (Laura Huertas Millán).
