Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some things that you should know.

What is the Industry accreditation process?
The accreditation process takes place once you purchase a pass. We review the professional information you’ve provided on your registration form, and either approve the transaction or recommend a different pass type that is more suited to your role in the industry. Make sure to complete the registration form with as many details as possible. If we require more information, we will reach out to you directly.
Which pass do I register for?
All passes offer the same access to the Industry Conference, meeting spaces, screening libraries, and exclusive delegate resources (except for our one-day Doc Conference Pass). The main difference between our various pass options is screening access (see here). Our Conference Pass is ideal for emerging film professionals, while our Industry Pass is the most popular option and provides fluid access to a wide range of professional services and screenings. Premium and Buyer Passes are designed for those working in distribution and acquisitions. Film Rep Passes are exclusively for sales agents and producers with films in Official Selection.
Several people from my company want to attend. Can one Industry Pass be shared amongst colleagues?
No. Each delegate attending the festival must purchase their own pass. Passes are non- transferrable.
I paid for a pass but have not received a confirmation email. Should I be concerned?
The accreditation process takes up to three days. If you do not receive your confirmation within that time, please email us at registration@tiff.net or call at +1 416.934.5834.
I have a film in the Festival. Do I still have to pay for my pass?
This depends on your involvement in the film and applies only to films confirmed for Official Selection. Please inquire at registration@tiff.net.
I am unable to attend. Can I transfer my pass to a colleague or receive a refund?
All passes are non-refundable as stated upon point of purchase. A pass may be transferred to another person within the same company at the same professional level no later than August 10.
Does TIFF have a market? Can I set up a stand/be an exhibitor?
TIFF has an “unofficial market” with a unique business model. We do not offer traditional exhibitor opportunities, but national agencies representing countries from around the world rent stands in our Industry Centre. Last year we had a total of 38 countries represented in our Industry Centre. Learn more about promotional opportunities at TIFF '17.
Is there a list of industry professionals attending TIFF? When will it be available?
A comprehensive list of everyone attending the Festival professionally is available via the Delegate’s Guide. This can be used as a resource to identify people you’d like to meet or network with. The Delegate’s Guide is now available for registered industry.
Will my delegate badge get me into parties?
TIFF does not have access to independent parties and events during the Festival. Keep an eye out for TIFF Happy Hours, which take place at the end of each day of programming at the Industry Conference. Remember to check your mailbox each day for invitations to external events.
I’m a film student/scholar. Do you offer special rates for academics?
Yes! TIFF values and encourages an academic presence at the Festival. Please contact us at registration@tiff.net to enquire about special rates.
I have accessibility needs. Who can I contact to make arrangements?
We are glad to accommodate and make your visit as accessible as possible. If you are an industry delegate, please start but by contacting us at registration@tiff.net. Individuals attending publicly should contact Customer Relations at customerrelations@tiff.net.
Can you help me book my hotel and flight? Do you offer special rates?
Yes. Contact hotels@tiff.net for rates and assistance.
"Help, I lost my pass!"
Lost or stolen passes must be reported to the Registration Desk (Industry Centre). A $20 replacement fee will apply. (Credit cards only.)
