In one of the first and most influential instances of cinema-verité filmmaking, director Allan King and his crew spent ten weeks in the Toronto home of Billy and Antoinette Edwards during a turbulent time in the couple's marriage. While the film never shies away from conflict, it also makes room for moments of startling poignancy, from an idyllic (if short-lived) getaway in the countryside to the Edwards' tender dance to The Beatles' "A Day in the Life."
