June Kim is a film curator and a Korean-to-English translator based in Toronto and Seoul. Ever since she finished her studies in cinema at the University of Toronto, she has been involved with the Toronto International Film Festival in one way or another, beginning with acting as the assistant to Cameron Bailey in 2010. As the Associate International Programmer, her main focus is the region of Southeast Asia. She also acts as the programming associate to Giovanna Fulvi, who oversees the territory of East Asia. Aside from TIFF, Kim is currently programming East Asian and Southeast Asian films for the local Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival and Udine Far East Film Festival in Northern Italy. She was once involved as the cinematographer of a short film which was invited to Ebertfest, and there she crossed paths with Haskell Wexler, who commented on her camera and said, “That’s a good one.”
