Community & Access

Connecting with one another and celebrating creativity

TIFF Community Impact is dedicated to increasing access to film for individuals from equity-deserving communities across the Greater Toronto Area. Events take place online, at TIFF Lightbox, and in community spaces. Through intentional curation and collaboration with community partners, we aim to create welcoming spaces for participants to connect with one another and celebrate their creative sides.

Short Films, Big Ideas

The short films in this collection feature stories by local creators about emotional vulnerability as a path to connecting more deeply with others, collective care and action in the face of trauma, and finding yourself in community. By making these films available to our partners for free on digital TIFF Lightbox, we hope to continue expanding access to film as a means of connection and care. Click here to watch now.

If your group is interested in co-creating an interactive experience such as a guided discussion or a creative workshop in connection with these titles, please contact outreach@tiff.net to learn more.

Silver Screenings

TIFF’s Silver Screenings programme offers seniors a variety of free film-focused events on a monthly basis. Our events take place at TIFF Lightbox and offer you the chance to connect with fellow film lovers. In addition to events at TIFF Lightbox, we have the capacity to branch out and bring the experience to you! We will work with you to bring film screenings and discussions off-site to your community space. If you are a senior, or if you represent a seniors’ group, and you are looking for further details about this programme, please visit contact toursandtalks@tiff.net.
