TORONTO — The 41st Toronto International Film Festival® kicks off in 105 days and Volunteer applications have officially opened. Each summer, TIFF recruits enthusiastic film lovers to join its dedicated Volunteer team and provide crucial support in welcoming the hundreds of thousands of Festival-goers who descend on the city from around the globe each September. In return, the organization offers great rewards and a diverse programme enriched by a transformative and unparalleled hands-on learning experience. More than 3,059 individual volunteers contributed to the 2015 Festival, donating over 86,230 tireless hours to activities supporting the 11-day event.

“With their endless enthusiasm and zealous commitment, TIFF Volunteers represent the heart of our organization in countless ways,” said Justin Ingraldi, Senior Manager, Volunteer and Intern Resources, TIFF. “Through our dedicated Volunteer programme we endeavour to create a special experience for each one of them and unique Festival memories that will last a lifetime.”

TIFF’s celebrated Volunteer programme helps the organization bring the power of film to life 365 days a year. In 2015, the year-round programme attracted 411 volunteers who devoted 16,975 hours of their time in support of all activities at TIFF Bell Lightbox, including its slate of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, festivals and charitable initiatives.

Interested participants can apply online at tiff.net/volunteer until June 30. Applicants must meet the minimum age requirement of 18.
