How do I know if the tickets have been accepted?

Once the recipient has accepted them, you’ll receive an email confirming the ticket has been accepted. After a successful Ticket Transfer, the ticket in your account is no longer valid for event entry.

Once you send a ticket, you’ll see either:

  • Waiting to accept or Sent, wwhich means your friends have not accepted the transferred tickets yet — remind them to check their email or text messages for the transfer invite.
  • Accepted by or Claimed, which means the transfer has been successful. Your transferred tickets will show in your account as sent.

If your recipient does not accept your offer, then they will not be able to use your tickets. Tickets must be accepted 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the event.

How do I accept transferred tickets?

  1. You will receive an email or text from TIFF Customer Relations with instructions to accept the offer.
  2. Sign in or create a new account — make sure you use the same email for your account and that the tickets were sent to.
  3. To view or add your tickets to your wallet, select My Events.
  4. Tickets must be accepted 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the event.

How do I accept my transferred tickets if I lost the email or text?

  • Ask the sender to cancel the original transfer and start a new Ticket Transfer.
  • Log into your TIFF Festival Account Manager (for Festival) or TIFF Account Manager (for Year-round) using the email address the transfer was sent to, and you can easily accept your tickets there!

Still can’t find them? Search your email using the term transfer or the artist or event.

How do I cancel a ticket transfer?

  1. Sign in to TIFF Account Manager (for Festival) or TIFF Account Manager (for Year-round).
  2. Click “My Events” and select your event.
  3. Click Cancel Transfer next to the ticket you wish to cancel.
  4. A pop-up will appear—click Cancel Transfer again to confirm.
  5. You and your guest will both receive an email confirming that the ticket transfer has been cancelled.

Can I send a screenshot of my ticket instead of transferring?

No. Your ticket includes Safetix technology with fraud and counterfeit protection, so screenshots or printouts cannot be used. If you, a friend, colleague, or client arrive at a TIFF screening with a screenshot, entry will be denied.

Support can only be provided to the original purchasers or ticket holders. Government ID and the payment method for this transaction will be required for assistance.
