Here are some tips to ensure you are prepared for your screening:

• Double check your screening date, time, and venue. Our Festival schedule can change, so ensure you have accurate information by checking tiff.net. You can also see a full list of schedule changes at tiff.net/changes
• Download a digital ticket to your mobile wallet. You will need your tickets to get into the screening, and it’s easier to download them at home before you arrive. Follow the steps in this TIFF Helps section to access your tickets and download them to your mobile wallet. If you are having difficulty accessing your tickets prior to your screening, please reach out to TIFF Customer Relations for assistance.

No. Screenshots and printouts cannot be scanned and will be denied at entry. TIFF tickets use SafeTix™ technology, which features a continuously updating barcode for fraud and counterfeit protection.

• Need to share a ticket? Transfer it directly to a friend, colleague, or client through TIFF Festival Account Manager or Ticketmaster.ca. Follow our Ticket Transfer Guide for step-by-step instructions.
• Need support? Onsite support is strictly limited to the original ticket purchaser. A valid government-issued ID and the original payment method are required for assistance.

1. Have your ticket ready: Before arriving, add your ticket to your smartphone's digital wallet, or log into TIFF Festival Account Manager or Ticketmaster.ca so your barcode is open and ready to scan.
2. Travel light: For faster entry, we strongly recommend leaving bags at home. Bags larger than 12″ × 12″ × 6″ are not permitted. Please review our full Bag Check & Prohibited Items Policy before arriving.
3. Arrive 30 to 45 minutes early: Doors open early, and arriving 30 minutes before showtime is on time—15 minutes early is late. Please arrive no earlier than 60 minutes prior.

Your seat is only guaranteed up to 15 minutes before showtime. At the 15-minute mark, unclaimed seats are released to the Rush Line. Screenings start promptly, and late entry is strictly at the discretion of venue staff (no refunds for denied entry).

All TIFF public screenings feature assigned seating, so there is no need to line up hours in advance. However, you must be in your seat at least 15 minutes before showtime. At the 15-minute mark, the Rush process begins, and unassigned or empty seats may be resold to guests waiting in the Rush Line on a first-come, first-served basis.

Unable to wait in line? If you have mobility or accessibility needs, speak directly to a TIFF staff member outside the venue for assistance or early entry.

Yes. You must sit in the specific seat assigned to your ticket out of respect for fellow film lovers and venue operations.

Please note: Accessible and companion seating locations are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. We strongly recommend reaching out as early as possible before your screening date to secure accommodations.

All schedule changes (date, time, or location) are posted at tiff.net/changes. If you hold tickets to a screening that has been changed or cancelled, TIFF Customer Relations will also notify you directly via email.

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. However, if you cannot attend, you have options:

1. Transfer: You can transfer your mobile ticket to a friend or family member directly through your ticketing platform (TIFF Festival Account Manager or Ticketmaster.ca).
2. Resell: Eligible tickets can be listed on Verified Ticketmaster Resale (requires a Canadian bank account).

For security purposes, bags will be checked at Roy Thomson Hall, the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre, the Royal Alexandra Theatre, Scotiabank Theatre, and at other indoor venues periodically. All bags are subject to search by security.

At all screening venues, any purses or bags that are larger than 12″× 12″× 6″ will not be allowed inside the venue. Permitted bags should be soft-sided and able to fit completely under the venue seats. No outside food or drink can be brought in.

Other prohibited items include:

• Professional/long lens cameras
• Selfie sticks, monopods, tripods, etc.
• Signs, posters, flags, or banners
• Illegal substances, alcohol, or drug paraphernalia
• Chairs or ladders
• Laser pointers, megaphones, or air horns
• Aerosol cans
• Weapons

Any objects deemed hazardous, inappropriate, or unacceptable by security or in their opinion may be used as a weapon of any kind (e.g., hammer, tools, baseball bat, hockey sticks, etc.) will not be permitted and may result in denial or ejection from the venue.
