On a night like any other, Joelle is closing up her hair salon when a mysterious visitor appears asking too many questions about her citizenship. Nothing is what it seems in this fierce and stylish genre-bending allegory on immigration and belonging.
Un soir bien ordinaire, alors qu'elle ferme son salon de coiffure, Joëlle voit apparaître un mystérieux visiteur qui lui pose trop de questions à propos de sa citoyenneté. Rien n'est ce que l'on croit dans cette allégorie féroce et très stylisée de l'immigration et du sentiment d'appartenance.
Naledi Jackson is a writer, director, and producer currently based in Toronto and Los Angeles. She studied fine art at Concordia University before moving to Toronto to pursue a career in film and television. Jackson is currently a writer on Anne with an E and is also writing the screenplay for her feature directorial debut, Dragon Mountain. The Drop In (17) is her first short film.
