Straub-Huillet's frequent evocation of "landscapes of resistance" prompted this experiment in which they asked friends to recite Stéphane Mallarmé's poem "A Throw of the Dice Will Never Abolish Chance" in a park next to Père Lachaise Cemetery, where the last 147 holdouts of the Paris Commune were lined up and shot in 1871.
