David Pecaut Square Fan Zones
There are a total of three zones on David Pecaut Square:

• TIFF Fan Zone South
• Rogers Fan Zone
• RBC Red Carpet Gallery

Please note: Only David Pecaut Square will follow the Fan Zone Entry Process outlined below. The King Street Fan Viewing Areas operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to capacity limits. For more details on both locations, please see below!

What to Expect When You Line Up:

Line-ups are managed on a first-come, first-served basis for each film. Please note that this is relevant only to the TIFF-operated south Fan Zone on David Pecaut Square:

Here is how the entry works.

• Join the Line
  Head to the designated entry area for your film's showtime. Space is strictly limited and granted in the order of arrival. There will be dedicated line-ups for each red carpet taking place that day. Between September 10-14, lineups will open at 11AM each day. From September 15th onwards, lineups will open at 2PM.

• Receive Your Wristband:
  This Fan Zone will open 2 hours prior to the screening start time. Once you are let into the fan zone area, you will get a bag check, then a staff member will give you a specific colour-coded wristband for that film.

• Wear Your Wristband at All Times
  You must keep your wristband secured on your wrist while inside the Fan Zone; this serves as your active proof of entry.

• Exiting the Fan Zone
  Please note that entry is valid once per film. The Fan Zone will be cleared between Red Carpets, and TIFF staff or a Volunteer will cut off your wristband upon exit. Re-entry with that same wristband will not be permitted.

Please note: Approximately 30 minutes before a screening starts, Fan Zone access will close for that particular Red Carpet.

What’s new this year?

TIFF has dedicated two Fan Viewing Areas along King Street that allow visitors and the public to watch Red Carpet appearances at the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre and Royal Alexandra Theatre. These areas are open to the general public with no advance line-ups required. Space in the viewing area is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, please note that online ticketing and advance registration are no longer available or required for any TIFF Fan zones for 2026!

Enhanced measures within certain sections of these areas will still be in place, and fans may be subject to bag checks. All persons within a Fan Zone area will be subject to a general code of conduct.

Most of our Fan Zones/Viewing areas are standing room only on level ground and outside without much protection from the weather, so plan accordingly.

All Fan Zones and Fan Viewing Areas will have designated Accessible Viewing Areas. For those who require access to these areas, check in with the accessibility volunteers on site. Accessible ramps are provided for the King Street Fan Viewing Areas. Our support team and volunteers will be available on-site to assist you with any questions or accommodation needs.

Those who would like to access the Accessible Viewing Area at the David Pecaut Square Fan Zone are welcome to talk to a support staff member at the front of the line.

Rules:

• DPS Fan Zones and Accessible areas are capacity controlled.
• Fans will not be permitted to bring chairs, ladders or other 'furniture'. Accessibility accommodations will be provided where needed.

Fan Viewing Areas at Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre & Royal Alexandra Theatre:

• There will be no wristbands issued or tickets required. Fans will be able to come and take their spot at any time.
• Whilst fans will not be required to leave these areas between red carpets, overnight camping out will not be permitted. Saving excessively large spaces for friends/others not immediately in your group will also not be permitted, and will be addressed by Security.
• TIFF, in its sole discretion, may determine that certain red carpet activity may require enhanced barricading, access controls and/or additional security measures. Decisions that may impact any of the above changes will be communicated with at least 24 hours' notice.

David Pecaut Square:

• All bags at DPS Fan Zones will be checked (please pack light!).
• Coloured bracelets are dedicated to each film at the DPS Fan Zone and Red Carpet. Wristbands will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis upon entry into the Fan Zone.
• Fan Zones at DPS are cleared after every Red Carpet.
• There is no re-entry into a Fan Zone at DPS. If you leave a Fan Zone, you will need to join the back of the line if you want to go back in (subject to available capacity).
• Between September 10 - 14, lineups will open at 11.00AM each day. From September 15 onwards, lineups will open at 2:00PM. You will not be able to line up prior to this time.
• You will not be able to save spots in line. Only one wristband will be issued per person.

Bag Checks & Prohibited Items

Fan Zones on David Pecaut Square are bag-checked. Fan Viewing Areas on King Street will still have enhanced measures within certain sections and fans may be subject to bag checks. All persons within a Fan Zone area will be subject to a general code of conduct.

Allowed Items:

• Water bottles (Fans may be asked to open bottles for Security to inspect contents)
• Cellphones
• Purses, small tote bags, and fanny packs

Prohibited Items:

• Professional cameras (lenses longer than 6")
• Posters or signs larger than 11"x17"
• Backpacks
• Bags larger than 12” x 12” x 6”
• Ladders or Chairs
• Selfie sticks, tripods or monopods
• Aerosol canisters
• Laser pointers, megaphones or airhorns
• Alcohol, drugs and/or paraphernalia
• Illegal items and weapons of any kind
• Any hazardous, inappropriate, offensive, or suspicious items

TIFF in its sole discretion may determine that certain red carpet activity may require enhanced barricading, access controls and/or additional security measures. Decisions that may impact any of the above changes will be communicated with at least 24 hours' notice.

TIFF operates a zero tolerance policy towards disrespectful, aggressive, and/or inappropriate behaviour towards staff, Volunteers, fellow fans, and those participating in the Festival. By entering a Fan Zone, you agree to abide by this Fan Zone Code of Conduct. Any persons found to be in violation of this Fan Zone Code of Conduct will be at TIFF’s sole discretion and will be removed from a Fan Zone immediately, and/or access to other Fan Zones or other premises may be restricted for the duration of the Festival and/or for any future dates at TIFF’s sole discretion. TIFF will use its sole discretion when determining whether behaviour(s) and/or actions fall into one or more of the non-exhaustive list of categories of prohibited conduct outlined below.

Possession of a Fan Zone access credential (i.e., wristband or online ticket) is required for entry but does not guarantee entry, nor guarantee access to any particular location, area, venue, or individual(s) (including talent). Access to Fan Zones is at the sole discretion of TIFF and its representatives and can be revoked at any time and for any reason in TIFF’s sole discretion.

Prohibited Conduct:

• Behaviour that is unruly, disruptive, threatening, or violent in nature, including verbal or physical harassment.
• Conduct that is illegal.
• Possession of a Prohibited Item (see Bag Check rules).
• Conduct that results in damage to TIFF property, City of Toronto infrastructure, or other personal or public property.
• Using language or making gestures that are threatening, inciteful, abusive, or discriminatory, including but not limited to on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, ability, and/or sexual orientation.
• Displaying signs, symbols, images, flags, props, banners, and/or clothing that may be considered vulgar, discriminatory, disrespectful, or divisive in nature.
• Entering or attempting to enter a Fan Zone other than as permitted by an authorized ticket, credential, reservation, or purpose.
• Smoking (including e-cigarettes or vapourizers), consumption of alcohol and/or drugs (regardless of legal status).
• Any disruptive, harmful, or disorderly behaviour or any act which, in the opinion of TIFF representatives, presents a risk to the safety of patrons or staff, interferes with the event or otherwise targets other attendees or other patrons enjoyment.

What do I need to enter the Fan Viewing Areas on King Street?

Nothing! You are welcome to arrive and depart as you please; no ticketing or wristband required.

Is there a Fan Zone Rush Line?

No, there is no Fan Zone rush line. Please proceed to the appropriate line up for your film on David Pecaut Square.

When should I line up?

On David Pecaut Square between September 10 - 14, lineups will open at 11.00am each day. From September 15 onwards, lineups will open at 2:00pm. You will not be able to line up prior to this time.

You will not be able to save spots in line. Only one wristband will be issued per person.

*There is no lineup for King Street Viewing Areas.

What time do Fan Zones open?

DPS Fan Zones open approximately two hours prior to the start time of a screening. Access begins at this time, and extends until capacity is reached, or until 30 minutes prior to the film time.

Can I bring in a backpack or bag?

Backpacks are not allowed in Fan Zones. Smaller items like purses, small tote bags and fanny packs are permitted. Please check the list of allowed and prohibited items for more details.

Am I guaranteed a spot in the Fan Zone?

Fan Zones have limited capacity and specific timings for when fans can enter. Access is not guaranteed.

Additionally, TIFF cannot guarantee that any specific individual will appear on the Red Carpet.
