Cinema studies professor Aboubakar Sanogo introduces the late Idrissa Ouédraogo's 1990 winner of the top prize at FESPACO and the Grand Prix at Cannes.

Aboubakar Sanogo

Aboubakar Sanogo is an assistant professor in film studies at Carleton University. His writing has appeared in Cinema Journal, Framework, Moving Image Review & Art Journal, Rethinking History, and Sight and Sound, among other publications. Sanogo is currently preparing a monograph and an anthology on the cinema of Med Hondo. He is also heading the African Film Heritage Project on behalf of the Pan African Federation of Filmmakers.
