Pianist and composer Tania Gill accompanies Lloyd's final silent film, Speedy, and Number, Please?, the first of his true chase-based comedies.
Tania Gill is a Toronto-based pianist and composer. She has performed, recorded and toured with notable musicians, including Steve Reich, Anthony Braxton, the Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band, Andrew Downing’s Melodeon ensemble, the art rock band Deep Dark United, the Woodshed Orchestra, the Mark Segger Sextet and the See Through Trio. She leads the Tania Gill Quartet with Lina Allemano (trumpet), Nico Dann (drums) and Rob Clutton (bass), and released the critically acclaimed Bolger Station. As a freelance pianist, she has accompanied singers including Jim Cuddy, Jackie Richardson, Ben Heppner, Hidden Camera's Joel Gibb, Dione Taylor, Fides Krucker, and many others. She studied classical piano performance at the University of Victoria, has a BMus in Jazz Performance from McGill, and an MMus in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto. She currently teaches at Humber College.
