Be the first to see some of the year's most exciting new films! Formerly known as Reel Talk: Sneak Preview, Secret Movie Club showcases the best of independent cinema before it hits Toronto theatres, from highly anticipated festival favourites, to small-budget indies, to the year’s most buzzworthy art-house films.
Part of the fun is the surprise: titles are not announced ahead of time, and all screenings are previews of films not yet released. Each event offers thought-provoking post-film discussion led by a filmmaker, critic, or subject expert, and you are welcome to enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and pastries before each screening.
This season's hosts are Kerri Craddock, TIFF’s Director of Festival Programming, and Norm Wilner, senior film writer for NOW Magazine. To give you an idea of what to expect: last season's lineup included Wonderstruck, Sweet Virginia, The Party, Finding Your Feet, Permission, Nostalgia, and Beirut.
