This screening will be introduced by Black Star curator Ashley Clark and features live piano accompaniment by Thompson T. Egbo-Egbo.
Ashley Clark is the senior programmer of cinema at BAM in Brooklyn. He has curated Black Star programs at London's BFI Southbank and MoMA, and is a regular contributor to publications including Film Comment, Sight & Sound, and The Guardian. Clark’s first book is Facing Blackness: Media and Minstrelsy in Spike Lee’s Bamboozled (15).
Thompson Egbo-Egbo is a jazz pianist. He has shared the stage with Divine Brown, Quincy Jones, Kelly Rowland, the Barenaked Ladies, Wynton Marsalis, and many more. Thompson attended both Humber College and Berklee College of Music. He has released two albums, A New Standard and Short Stories, with eOne.
