Director Sofia Bohdanowicz reflects on Varda's first colour feature, which went on to win the Jury Grand Prix at the 1965 Berlin Film Festival.
Sofia is a Toronto-based filmmaker. She won the Emerging Canadian Director award at the 2016 Vancouver International Film Festival for her first feature, Never Eat Alone, and had a retrospective of her body of work at BAFICI in 2017. She is the winner of the 2017 Jay Scott Prize from the Toronto Film Critics Association and also won Best Canadian Documentary for Maison du bonheur from the Vancouver Critics Circle. She is in production for her third feature with Deragh Campbell and is currently pursuing her MFA in film production at York University.
