Jordan Klapman is a pianist, bandleader, music director, recording producer, and popular music educator. Since 1977, he has specialized in the performance of 20th-century popular music, from traditional jazz and Dixieland to 1920s/30s dance music, and klezmer. Since 2012, Klapman has accompanied screenings of classic silent films for the Toronto Jewish Film Society, the Toronto Silent Film Society, the Vintage Film Society, and the Silent Revue and Silent Sundays at Toronto’s historic Revue Theatre. His original accompaniments have played at screenings of Battleship Potemkin, The Ring, Easy Virtue, The Lost Command, Beggars of Life, Pandora’s Box, and many other silent classics.
