TIFF’s Summer Camps offer hands-on Film Camps aimed to provide children the opportunity to explore the art of filmmaking in a fun, educational, safe and inclusive environment. Campers will be encouraged to create innovative stories and immersive experiences that empower and educate. Camp focuses on working together, teaching frameworks and developing the skills to produce their own films and recognizing their own voice. Film has tremendous power to create change and inspire ideas that start with action. Please join us this summer at the TIFF Bell Lightbox for a wide range of camps, designed for ages 8 to 17 led by film industry professionals.

Film Fun 101: Superheroes

Ages 8-10

Calling all young creators! Ready to experience the art of filmmaking? The theme for this summer’s Film Fun 101 is Superheroes, in which every day is a new adventure. Choose your own hero or heroine, whether they are from film, comics, history or real life, and unleash your powers of storytelling. Film Fun 101: Superheroes aims to broaden campers’ understanding of how to make, watch, and share their thoughts about movies. Campers will screen films featuring diverse protagonists that challenge their notion of a hero and inspire confidence to create their own. Campers will explore all parts of filmmaking from a screenwriting workshop, where they create their own hero, to a stunt coordination workshop, where they will learn how to create believable action scenes. Campers will express their own creative voice through visual storytelling and develop an epically charged narrative as a group, at which point they will turn that concept into realized works.

Film 101 is the origin story to your future filmmaking superhero!
