In 2016, film lovers like you helped 4,852 children access TIFF’s cultural and educational programming, free of charge, through Pocket Fund. Youth from across the Greater Toronto Area, no matter their financial circumstance, learned invaluable teamwork skills in our camps and workshops, participated in the technological wonders of digiPlaySpace, and were inspired by the universal stories they saw onscreen.

Young Ibrahim, a 2016 Pocket Fund recipient, summed it up best. After attending a TIFF Kids shorts programme, his first time in a movie theatre, he said:

“It was like I was in all those movies.”

This year, we want even more amazing kids like Ibrahim to see themselves in the movies – to experience film’s power to encourage creativity and educate about the world.

Let’s bring the power of film to 6,000 children and youth in need in 2017.
