This short, commissioned by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and funded by the Government of Canada, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary, follows Kit the beaver as she tries to help her family build their dam. She feels like she isn’t doing enough, but soon learns that everyone contributes in different ways. DAM! The Story of Kit the Beaver features an original score from Erica Procunier, performed by the TSO.

Kjell Boersma

Kjell Boersma is a director from South River, Ontario. As a graduate of Ryerson University's Film Studies program, he has since worked on broadcast animation and feature documentaries, as well as a plethora of music videos, experimental modern dance films, and more commercial endeavours. In 2010, he left Toronto for New Mexico, where he collaborated with National Geographic photographer Adriel Heisey to shoot aerial video for the United States National Park Service. He also co-founded the arts council gallupARTS, and his films include Monster Slayer (15) and DAM! The Story of Kit the Beaver (17)
