Filmmaker Federica Foglia joins us to introduce her latest short film, Fantassút/Rain on the Borders, followed by a Skype introduction with filmmaker Zaradasht Ahmed, whose latest documentary Nowhere to Hide provides an immersive look into the life of a male nurse who works and raises his children in Jalawla, Iraq, one of the world’s most dangerous and inaccessible areas.
Federica Foglia is an award-winning writer and director. She holds a degree in the History of Art, Theatre, and Cinema from the University of Naples L'Orientale. Her short films Exit/Entrance (15) and Fantassút/Rain on the Borders (16) have screened at film festivals around the world, from Poland to Brazil.
Zaradasht Ahmed is a Kurdish-Norwegian filmmaker and photographer. His previous work includes the award-winning Road to Diyarbakir, and he has many years of documentary-filmmaking experience in the Middle East, North-Africa, and Asia where he also trains locals in documentation. His latest film, Fata Morgana, has screened at several festivals around the world.
